Awards Judging Panel Prepare to Pick Winners

THE 13th CIPD North East of England HR&D Awards are now under way, and the judging panel is preparing to get down to the difficult task of choosing the winners.

The annual event shines a light on the best employers across the region and is open to all types of organisation, regardless of size or sector. The winners will be announced on June 20 at an awards dinner at the Newcastle Eagles Community Arena, which will this year have a Summer Festival theme.

Sarah Carnegie and Elouise Leonard-Cross, co-chairs of the CIPD North East of England Branch Committee, said: "We are delighted that so many senior HR&D professionals from across the region have volunteered to be judges for this the 13th year of our Awards. It is so important to involve experienced specialists as they will be able to bring a high level of discernment and knowledge to the judging process."

This year's judging panel is: | Kerry Hardy Kerry is head of HR at PACCOR (Global High Performance Packaging). She is a previous CIPD winner, having taken home the Excellence in People Development award in 2017 and the Excellence in Organisations Development prize in 2018.

| Mark Pennifold Mark has worked in the automo-tive industry for more than 20 years and is currently HR director at Nissan's Sunderland plant. He has previously worked at Ford and Jaguar Land Rover.

| Katie Wilkie Katie has recently joined the NHS Business Services Authority in the role of head of people development. She was part of the team at Sage UK which won the CIPD North East Employability and Diversity award in 2018.

| Jane Embley Jane is director of HR and organisational development at Northumbria University. She leads the university's activities in relation to the recruitment, employment, and development of staff and is responsible for the strategic plan for people. …
