After being fined $20,000 by the league yesterday for his

helmet-to-helmet blow to Miami quarterback Dan Marino Monday

night, Jaguars safety Mike Logan realized he wasn't going to be

taking too much money to the bank the next few weeks.

"Looks like the next two weeks will be play-for-free weeks,"

Logan said.

Not quite, but close. Logan is scheduled to make $277,500 this

season, or $17,343 a week, which means Sunday's game at Buffalo

is definitely a freebie.

The hit that drew the fine came in the third quarter of the

Jaguars' 28-21 victory over the Dolphins, a play in which Logan

was flagged 15 yards for a personal foul.

"It was an illegal hit, and I deserved to be flagged and

fined," Logan said. "But 20 big ones for the first offense is

kind of severe."

"For a young kid picking up lunch money, that's a lot of

money," Jaguars coach Tom Coughlin said. "I was kind of shocked

at that. But we knew it was coming. …
