Reardon, Sanchez on Net Candidates Square off in Times-Union Online Chat Session

Article excerpt

St. Johns County Commission District 2 candidates Ron Sanchez

and John Reardon recently took questions in the Times-Union's

chat room. Below are excerpts of those interviews. Full

transcripts can be found on jacksonville.com, the Times-Union's

Internet site. The runoff election is tomorrow.

Q.: Since neither one of you live in this district, and got most

of your votes from the voters in Ponte Vedra, how are you going

requirements and will totally dedicate my service to District 2

as their representative and to the rest of the county as I am

required to as a county commissioner. District 2 will not be

neglected as it has been in the past.

Reardon: As a resident of St. Johns County I have previously

lived in District 2 for six years. Upon getting elected I will

be moving back to the district to an area which I am very

familiar with their concerns already. I am going to represent

the district very strongly. I will make myself extremely

accessible by holding regular town meetings throughout the

district, which I have already started doing. I will advertise

these meetings through community associations, church groups,

newspaper ads and on radio and television. …
