36-13 in first round of the Class 4A playoffs).

Returning starters: MLB Daniel Davis (6-0, 220, Jr.);

QB/FS Kellen Dupree (6-1, 220, Jr.); OLB Freddy Smith (5-10,

180, Sr.); C J.T. Taylor (6-1, 210, Sr.); G Roosevelt Ruise

(6-1, 240, Sr.); DE/FB Scott Jones (6-0, 215,Sr.).

Strengths: Athleticism and quickness.

Weaknesses: A lack of depth and the fact players are learning

a new system.

Outlook: Carl West returns to his alma mater attempting to

return the Wildcats to past glory after a mediocre 1997

campaign. The work he did while head coach at Baldwin makes it a

safe bet he will succeed. The Wildcats are learning a new system

on both sides of the ball, but West is optimistic.

first round of the Class 3A playoffs).
