Following are crimes and other incidents on the Westside

reported recently to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.


Police arrested a man, 18, whose sister, 20, said he punched

her three times in the face during an argument in their home in

the 8000 block of Boonesborough Trail about 6:40 p.m. Sunday.

The sister, who is eight months' pregnant, told police she and

her brother argued about use of the telephone.

A Marietta man, 36, was arrested after his live-in girlfriend

sought medical treatment for facial injuries inflicted in a

beating. The woman, 31, told police the couple was riding in the

car about 4:40 a.m. Sunday when her boyfriend, who had been

drinking, said he wanted to buy some crack cocaine. When she

opposed, he became violent and began punching her in the face.

They returned to their home in the 8500 block of Ocala Avenue

and after her boyfriend fell asleep, she went to a Gate station

in the 500 block of Bulls Bay Highway to call police.


Police arrested a woman, 33, on a charge of attempting to

obtain a controlled substance by fraud after she tried to obtain

a narcotic drug with a forged prescription. The incident

happened about 8:48 p.m. Sunday at the Walgreen drugstore in the

3600 block of Blanding Boulevard. According to a police report,

the woman pulled into the drive-in window at Walgreen and gave

the clerk a prescription for 40 pills of a narcotic drug. The

clerk checked with the doctor who had written the prescription

and learned the woman had altered the amount of pills from 10 to
