started off on the classic rock tip, with Kansas. Now the series

takes a few steps back to the Motown era, with the Four Tops.

The Tops were one of the best interpreters of the legendary

Holland/Dozier songwriting catalog. Songs like Reach Out I'll Be

There and It's the Same Old Song are among the most familiar

songs to emerge from the modern pop catalog.

The show, featuring three of the original members (the fourth,

Lawrence Payton, died in June), starts at 8 p.m. today at

Metropolitan Park, 1410 Gator Bowl Blvd. Table seats are $60,

$50 and $45. Lawn seats are $15 in advance and $20 at the gate.

Call (904) 354-5547 for information. You can also get tickets

through Ticketmaster at (904) 353-3309.

with the live broadcast of the syndicated Tom Joyner Morning

Show this morning at the Times-Union Center for the Performing

Arts. …
