Following are crimes and other incidents reported recently on

the Southside to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.


Police arrested a Southside man, 26, after his girlfriend, 19,

told them he punched her in the thigh during an argument in

their apartment in the 1700 block of Art Museum Drive about 9:10

a.m. Sunday. The woman told police she is two months' pregnant

with the man's child. She said her boyfriend apparently became

angry because her son, 3, woke up and started playing a video

they had rented the night before. The man was charged with

aggravated battery/domestic violence.


A Southside teenager, 18, was arrested on battery/domestic

violence charges after fighting with his father, 42, outside

their home in the 4200 block of South Sierra Madre Drive about

7:45 p.m. Sunday. According to a police report, the son argued

with his father because he wanted to take the car, which the

father opposed. The son pushed the father and the two of them

rolled around on the ground. The father was scratched on his

arms and face.

Police say they will seek an arrest warrant for a man, 25, who

fought his former girlfriend, 24, and her sister, 22, during a

domestic dispute outside the women's home in the 3600 block of

Freeman Road about 8:45 p.m. Sunday. According to a police

report, the man went to the home to return his son, 2 1/2, after

a visit. He argued with his former girlfriend, the child's

mother, and pushed her to the ground. The woman's sister

intervened and was also struck by the man before he fled in a

car with his current girlfriend.


A man, 40, was arrested and charged with violating an

injunction for protection that had been issued against him by

his ex-girlfriend. The arrest occurred about 4:25 a.m. Sunday at

the woman's apartment in the 5800 block of Barnes Road South. …
