Teen Accused of Making Bomb Threat

Article excerpt

A 17-year-old Mandarin High School junior was arrested

Wednesday on charges of making a false report of a bomb after

police said she telephoned in a bomb threat to the school the

day before, forcing the evacuation of 2,400 students.

Police said the student was arrested on the second-degree

felony at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, one day after the 10:25 a.m.

do or something that anyone would do as a hoax. When there is a

threat, we don't have the ability to ignore it because you never

know when it could be real," she said. "That concerns me greatly

that a high school student would pull such an incident without

considering the consequences involved in the action. …
