Following are crimes and other incidents reported recently on

the Southside to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.


A 40-year-old Southside woman told police she was robbed of $25

as she was locking up after a Girl Scout meeting at All Saints

Episcopal Church in the 4100 block of Hendricks Avenue about

7:30 p.m. Thursday.

The woman said a man entered her unlocked car in which two

girls, 7 and 3, were waiting for her. The robber searched

through her car until he noticed the woman and her neighbor, 35,

approaching the car. The robber jumped out of the car and asked

the woman if she had any money. She gave him $25, telling him

that was all she had. The robber told her he had a gun and

pointed something at her. He told her not to look at him before

he fled to the rear of the church property. Police questioned a

church deacon and a church janitor, but neither said they saw

the robbery.


Police say they will seek an arrest warrant for a woman, 21,

who slashed the face of another woman, 20, during an argument at

the Emerson Arms apartments in the 2100 block of Emerson Street

about 6 p.m. Thursday. The victim told police she was visiting

at her cousin's apartment when she got into an argument with the

suspect over the suspect's boyfriend. The suspect left and

returned shortly with a box cutter which she used to slash the

left side of the victim's face. The suspect fled. The victim was

treated by personnel from a rescue unit.


A manager at the Green Tree Place apartments in the 9400 block

of Princeton Square Boulevard South called police at 10:27 a.m.

Thursday to report that during the night, someone tried to break

into the complex's leasing office by kicking in the patio doors.

The manager also said the key pad box on the front security gate

was damaged with some type of a pry tool, disabling the gate. …
