The situation with the Florida defensive line gets more

interesting by the day. DT Ed Chester, whose kneecap slipped out

of place and then back in place during Tuesday's practice, is

doubtful for Saturday's Arkansas game. "He must be hurt worse

than we thought," said UF coach Steve Spurrier. Chester's loss

moves DE Tim Beauchamp to tackle alongside Mike Moten, who is

replacing injured sophomore Reggie McGrew (questionable for LSU

next week). The starting ends likely will be Willie Rodgers and

Willie Cohens. Beauchamp played at tackle in last year's FSU

game in Tallahassee, and had some problems because he was a bit

undersized at 255 pounds. This season, he's up to 271, and is

stronger than last year. Redshirt freshmen Derrick Chambers and

Jayme Campbell are the backups at tackle. Freshman Tommy Moody

(6-4, 290), whom coaches had hoped to redshirt, could also play.

"He got a lot of reps and looked pretty good," said UF tackles

coach Rod Broadway. "We'll keep giving him some and see how he

does." DE/DT Buck Gurley (shoulder) practiced in green yesterday

and is questionable.

WR Jacquez Green, a potential Heisman Trophy candidate, on who

he thinks will win: "Peyton Manning. Because everybody loves

you look back on your career, you never talk about how many

yards you had or touchdowns you scored. You just talk about how

many championships and team titles you've won."

DT Reggie McGrew (knee), DB Marquand Manuel (hamstring) and DT

Gerard Warren (neck, knee) are out; DT Ed Chester (kneecap) is

doubtful; DE Buck Gurley (shoulder) is questionable; T Mo

Collins (shoulder), DE Willie Rodgers (knee) and TB Fred Taylor

(knee) are probable. …
