Connie Smith of San Marco had been hearing crows making their
raucous calls out side her kitchen window all day and finally,
she went outside with her son, Stuart, 7, to find out what
was attracting them to perch in her trees.
On the ground, they found a baby crow, injured, apparently
from a fall from its nest.
"Mom, we have to call CHIRPS," her son said. She finally
figured out that he meant BEAKS, the Bird Emergency Aide & Kare
Sanctuary. They called and got instructions on how to place the
baby in a substitute box nest in the tree.
Smith said that forever after, BEAKS will be called CHIRPS
at her house.
