The first day of school for Glynn County public school students

is Aug. 25.

School district administrators have set the following schedule

for registration of students entering Glynn schools for the

first time. Students who have moved over the summer should make

sure that their records are at the school they will attend.

All county elementary schools will register new students

starting from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and

continuing through the week.

Parents registering youngsters for kindergarten should bring

the child and allow 30 minutes for testing.

Middle school registration will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Tuesday through Friday at all three middle schools.

High school registration will be by appointment from Monday

through Aug. 18. For an appointment, call Glynn Academy at (912)

267-4210, extension 197; or Brunswick High School at (912)

New students should bring their birth certificate, certificates

of immunization, and eye, ear and dental screenings. Parents

should bring the child's Social Security card or be prepared to

sign a waiver.

Parents with questions about school bus routes should call the

district transportation office at (912) 267-4120.

Temptations Night Club at Brunswick Mall will sponsor a

fund-raiser to benefit the Coastal Area Support Team at 7:30

A $5 donation will be requested at the door. All proceeds will

go to CAST, a non-profit community organization that assists
