Walden Tastes Back-to-Back Perfection

For the first time in his 22-year bowling career, Skip Walden

rolled a perfect game in back-to-back weeks. The action took

place during the roll-offs for the league championship and the

first week of the summer league at Phoenix Lanes in the mixed

scratch league.

During the league championship, Walden rolled his 11th perfect

game in the first game of the roll-offs. He had to have all 12

strikes in the game in order to win and advance in the

stepladder format of the championship. His team won by 10 pins.

He also posted games of 205 and 211 for a 716 series, on the

way to helping his team win the league championship.

Last week, the first week of the summer league, the righthander

picked up where he left off in the winter league as he posted

his 12th career perfect game. He rolled games of 254 and 235 in

addition to the 300 game for a 789 series.

Walden said later that during the second perfect game, his

nerves became a problem on the 11th ball. But he held on and

finished the job.

SENIOR GETS FIRST 300 -- Ray Marsh rolled his first perfect

game recently in the Atlantic Juicers League at Jax Lanes West.

First-time perfection came to the 65-year-old in the last game

of the series as he flushed the pocket with all 12 shots. He

rolled games of 180 and 203 plus the 300 for a 683 series.

LOESER REACHES PERFECTION -- Larry Loeser rolled his first

perfect game recently in the Phoenix Mixed League in the

stepladder format style rolloff for the league championship.

Loeser and his team was trying to advance to the league

championship game.

Loeser got two breaks on his way to the 300 game. He took

advantage of a strike on a high pocket shot that tripped out the

four pin in the first frame, and a light pocket shot in the

fifth frame that tripped out the two pin on his way to

perfection in the one game match.
