Police arrested a boy, 17, on charges of resisting arrest with

violence and domestic violence after his mother called police

about 1:30 p.m. Thursday to report he was verbally abusing her

in their home in the 4000 block of Emerson Street. Two officers

answered the initial call and noted the boy had a stick in his

hand. They spoke to him and warned him that if they had to

return to his home, he would be arrested. They also told the

mother to call police if her son continued to be abusive. Before

the officers could take their next assignment, the mother called

police again, so they returned to the home. The boy was in the

kitchen with the stick still in his hand. According to their

mother was given information on where to get help in cases of

domestic violence.
