FLORIDA

THE SECRET IS OUT -- Florida WR Reidel Anthony has been on the

end of 18 touchdown passes from QB Danny Wuerffel, but still

thinks the squeaky-clean Heisman Trophy winner is a nerd.

"He rides his little bicycle to class with a backpack full of

books looking like a fifth grader," Anthony said.

Then, Anthony let the BIG secret out. He heard Wuerffel curse

once.

"I heard him curse, but I can't repeat it," Anthony said.

When pressed on the issue, Anthony said Wuerffel said "The `H'

word."

Anthony was then told "hell" really couldn't be considered a

curse word because it was in the Bible.

"Oh, I just know I can't say it around my mother," he said.

GOOD GUYS WEAR WHITE -- Florida will be the visiting team and

will wear its white pants with white tops for the first time

since 1993.

The last time UF wore the all-white uniforms, there was also a

late hit controversy -- this one involving a Florida player. S

Lawrence Wright, then a freshman, was called for a crucial late

hit on an Auburn wideout late in the game to put the Tigers in

fieldgoal range.

Auburn got the gamewinning kick, and won the game 38-35.

JOB HUNTING -- Believe it or not, Steve Spurrier is looking for

another job.

Steve Spurrier Jr., that is.

A graduate assistant for the past three seasons at Florida,

Spurrier is out of a job after tonight's game. Under NCAA rules,

coaches can only serve as graduate assistants for three seasons.

Two possibilities for Spurrier include Marshall, where former UF

defensive coordinator Bob Pruett is coach, and Duke, where he

played collegiately. Although Pruett doesn't yet have a position

open, he has said he would like to hire Spurrier as a wide

receivers coach.
