Rapp Leads Ospreys Past Eckerd 14-3

Senior catcher Travis Rapp drove in five runs and junior Brett

McKee pitched a complete game as the host University of North

Florida baseball team defeated Sunshine State Conference foe

Eckerd 14-3 yesterday at Harmon Stadium.

The Ospreys (23-12, 6-5 SSC) led by 10 runs after only two

innings in hammering Eckered starter Kirby Warms (2-5), who was

chased with one out in the second inning after allowing 10 hits.

Eckerd (18-18), 2-6, SSC) never recovered.

Rapp singled and scored in the first, doubled in two runs in the

second and hit a home run in the fourth. Mac Mackiewitz added 3

RBI, while Duke Baxter and Jay Nunley added five hits each.

Baxter's 21st double left him only one short of the UNF

single-season record.

McKee (3-2) was perfect through four innings before allowing

a double leading off the fifth. UNF and Eckerd finish a

three-game series today.

Community College yesterday, winning the first game 6-3 and
