Davis Got an Early Start on His Holiday Season

Article excerpt

Craig Davis gave himself two early Christmas presents last week

at Cassat Lanes. He posted his first 800 series on Tuesday night

in the Trio League with games of 246, 278 and 276. On Thursday

night, in the Mixed Scratch League, he rolled his first perfect

game.

Tuesday night, Davis left a 10 pin in the first frame and after

the spare conversion, he reeled off a five-bagger, before

leaving another 10 pin. After the spare, he came up light in the

eighth frame, leaving the 2-10 split for his only open of the

night. He finished the game with strikes in the ninth and 10th

frames for the 246 game.

The right-hander started the second game with another

fivebagger before leaving the 10 pin again. With the spare

conversion, the 12-year veteran rolled seven more strikes before

nerves took over on the final shot. He tugged the final shot,

and the ball went through the nose, leaving the 3-6-10

combination for the 276 game and the 800 series.

On Thursday night, Davis got the excitement out of the way

early as he rolled his first perfect game during the first game

of league competition. On this night, he also rolled games of

196 and 204 for an even 700 series. Davis is currently bowling

in two leagues and carrying a composite 207 average.

REICHARD ROLLS SECOND -- Robert Reichard rolled his second 300

game last week in the Phoenix Mixed Scratch League. Reichard

needed to strike out in the final frame to have a chance to win

the game and get the 300, and he mastered both. He also rolled

games of 234 and 257 for a 791 series.

The 13-year veteran is currently bowling in three leagues in

three separate centers and carrying a composite 211 average. The

right-hander also has an 804 series, plus a 299 and 298 to his

credit.

ALEXANDER ON A HOT STREAK -- Paul Alexander rolled his second

perfect game -- both in the past four months -- last week in the

Cassat Trio League. …
