Ex-Husband Charged in 2 Arsons

A Jacksonville man was charged twice in two days with separate

counts of arson in connection with his ex-wife's property.

According to a police report, Curtis Lee Asberry, 29, of the

10900 block of Blyth Court South, was arrested Thursday in

connection with a July 13 incident. He was charged with setting

a fire that damaged the entrance to his ex-wife's apartment

building and her current boyfriend's car.

Asberry was charged with arson again Friday, a police report

said, this time in connection with a fire Nov. 10 at his

ex-wife's apartment building in the 8000 block of Arlington

Expressway. The fire began in the woman's apartment.

Firefighters determined it was arson.

Asberry was being held yesterday in the Duval County jail

without bond.

SLASHED WITH BROKEN BOTTLE: A Jacksonville man was arrested and

charged with aggravated battery Saturday after being accused of

cutting another man in the face with a broken bottle.

Vittorio Lance Banister, 25, of the 9600 block of Old

Baymeadows Road, had let a friend stay with him for about a

month. According to a police report, he asked the friend to

leave during a party Saturday afternoon. The report said the two

argued and that Banister broke a beer bottle and cut the

victim's face several times.

Banister was being held in the Duval County jail on $5,003 bond

last night.

PREGNANT WOMAN ASSAULTED: A Jacksonville man was charged with

aggravated battery on his pregnant wife.

According to a police report, Patrick Foster Green, 32, of the

3800 block of Freeman Road, argued Friday evening with his wife,

who is six months pregnant. The woman told police that Green

pushed her and kicked her in the groin. She was not seriously

injured. Green was in the Duval County jail yesterday on $25,003

bond. …
