Let the Real Games Begin Jaguars Happy Regular Season Will Start Soon

DENVER -- Leon Searcy says it's time for the dance. Andre Rison

calls it the show.

Whatever the name, the Jacksonville Jaguars are ready for the

regular season. After beating the Denver Broncos 31-24 at Mile

High Stadium Friday night to even their preseason record at 2-2,

the Jaguars were thrilled to be leaving the monotony of the

preseason behind.

Are they ready for the AFC Champion Pittsburgh Steelers, their

opponent a week from today at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium?

"We're ready for Pittsburgh," said Searcy, a former Steeler.

"Why wouldn't we be? We have some things to work on, but the

bottom line is when it comes time for the dance, we'll be ready

to tango."

"No room for excuses not getting up now," said Rison. "The show

is here."

Friday night's show wasn't so good for the Jaguars. While they

won the game, they were dominated when both teams had their

first units on the field. The Jaguars trailed 17-0 after one

quarter, but scored 31 consecutive points.

The first-team offense was held to minus-6 yards in the first

quarter. For the game, the Jaguars had 47 yards rushing on 30

carries.
