North Florida pitcher Wyatt Brooks plans to wish

Jacksonville University pitcher Eddie Sordo good luck prior to

today's game at Harmon Stadium. Sordo will do the same.

But once the first pitch is thrown, the niceness comes to an

end. That's because when the game is over, both pitchers want

to be the one talking trash.

"I'll probably talk to him before the game Saturday just to wish

it," added Sordo.

Don't be fooled. It will just be a little friendly ribbing.

Both pitchers enter today's game with 3-0 records. Sordo has a

2.37 ERA with 22 strikeouts and six walks in 19 innings. Brooks

has a 1.42 ERA with 20 strikeouts and 10 walks in 19 innings.

Sordo is heading into his second season as JU's top pitcher. As

a junior last year, he posted a 10-4 mark with a 3.70 ERA. Coach

Terry Alexander expects even bigger things this year.

"He came back this year a lot more focused," Alexander said. "He

worked very hard and became a team leader. I don't think he

wanted to finish last season the way he did. …
