Following is a list of arrests and crimes reported by area police departments.


Police arrested a 33-year-old Jacksonville man at the 11th Avenue South oceanfront street end and charged him with the grand theft of a woman's purse in the 100 block of 11th Avenue South. The man was also charged with resisting arrest without violence.

A 31-year-old Navy man who was out to sea from Jan. 22 to 26 reported to police that his home in the 200 block of Ninth Avenue North had been burglarized. The items taken include an RCA 27-inch television valued at $250, a videocassette recorder valued at $200, a Jaguars suitcase valued at $90 and a cordless telephone valued at $100.


A 32-year-old Atlantic Beach woman reported her 1995 Mercury Mystique stolen from the 2100 block of Mayport Road on Wednesday, according to a police report. The car was recovered at Mayport Road and Lewis Street.

A 22-year-old Atlantic Beach man was arrested on Wednesday in the 2700 block of Mayport Road and charged with aggravated domestic assault after a man argued with his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend, fired a shot at him and threatened to kill the woman, a police report said.

A 20-year-old Jacksonville man was arrested Wednesday at Church and Cecil roads and charged with auto theft after police stopped a car reported stolen in Jacksonville, a police report said.

A 62-year-old Atlantic Beach woman walking near Mayport Road and Forrestal Circle South told police she was hit by a piece of asphalt thrown from a passing vehicle on Tuesday, a police report said. The asphalt hit the woman in the leg and hip and knocked her to the ground.

A 39-year-old Duluth, Ga., man told police his laptop computer was stolen from the Sea Turtle Inn at 1 Ocean Blvd., a police report said. Reported loss: $3,500.
