Make a Splash with an Awesome Jar Aquarium

IF YOU like the idea of having a no-mess pet, why not make this colourful aquarium? It's great for using up scraps of card and paper.

YOU WILL NEED A glass jar Sand or gravel Small stones and shells Cotton Thin coloured card/tissue paper/cellophane Craft foam Googly eyes Pens, pencils or paints Glue/double sided tape/ sticky tape METHOD 1. Remove the label from your glass jar by soaking it in a basin of water for up to an hour. Dry it thoroughly. Be very careful when handling glass - if you are unsure, ask an adult to help.

2. Draw some small fish shapes onto coloured card and cut around them. Use tissue paper and cellophane to decorate both sides.

3. To make the clam, cut the top and bottom of the shell from craft foam (see picture). Roll up a thin strip of pink card to make a cylinder and use glue or double sided tape to stick this onto the bottom half of the shell. …
