How to Make a Lake in a Lid

I WAS inspired to make this little lake after sitting on the shore at Lake Windermere. It has boats, mountains, trees and a jetty, all in the space of a jam jar lid.

YOU WILL NEED A lid from a jar Blue Play-Doh or Plasticine Rocks A green pan scourer Sand Thin card A cocktail stick White and blue paint Glue, pencils, felt pens, scissors METHOD 1. Fill the lid with either blue dough or plasticine. 2. Squash your rocks in at the back to make mountains. With a dry brush, dab some white paint onto the tops to look like snow. 3. Cut up the pan scourer to make little trees and bushes and position with a dab of glue.

4. Sprinkle on a tiny bit of sand to make a shoreline.

5. Add details with thin card shapes. I drew and cut out a jetty and a boat house.
