Because of a reporting error, the location of Switzerland Point

Middle School was incorrect yesterday in a Jacksonville Journal

item on Page B-1 about a St. Johns County candidates forum. The

school is located on Greenbriar Road.



"With the World Golf Village opening up and all the employment

opening up, there's a need for housing and services down there."

Justin Spharler, 4, was quite proud when he visited his

grandmother's house after having just learned a Bible verse

at his preschool. He recited, "Children, obey your parents

in the Lord, for this is right. Ephesians 6:1."

He basked in the praise of his grandmother, Millie Spharler of

East Arlington. A few days later, however, he was misbehaving

and his grandmother asked, "Justin, what happened to that Bible

verse, `Children obey your parents?'"

Justin answered, "I don't need that one now, Grandma. I'm

learning another one."


The discovery of a rabid raccoon on Hudnall Road on the city's

Southside has prompted the Duval County Health Department to

issue the third rabies quarantine alert of the year.

The quarantine area is bordered by Atlantic Boulevard at the

Hart Bridge to the north, University Boulevard at Philips

Highway to the south, Terry Road at Dean Road to the east, and

San Jose Boulevard at Emerson Street to the west.

Pet owners in the area should confine their animals.

Stray animals should be reported to the city's animal control

division, 387-8846. Animal bites should be reported to rabies

control, 630-3260. …
