Middleburg's Wright Excited about FSU Visit

Carlos Wright of Middleburg is headed to Florida State next weekend for an official visit, and judging by his excitement, the 'Noles can have him if they offer him a scholarship.

"I've had my mind set. I've liked FSU since I was a kid," said Wright, a wide receiver who also is being recruited by Auburn, Louisville, Syracuse and Georgia Southern. "It's where I've wanted to go."

Wright was named to the Florida Times-Union Super 24 team after posting 45 receptions for the Broncos. Wright also has a penchant for blocking kicks, and blocked four his senior season.

Wright has yet to qualify academically, but said recent improvement on his SAT score has the goal within reach.

"I'm taking the test again in a couple of weeks," Wright said.

No Middleburg player has earned a scholarship to Florida State since offensive lineman Pat Tomberlin did so in the 1980s.
