Jet Skiers Find Body of Man in River Tyne

A GROUP of jet skiers have told how they tragically found the body of a man in the River Tyne.

Friends Paul Taylor and Sean Heslop had been out on their jet skis, alongside Paul's son Dylan Steadman and one of Dylan's pals Steven Wanless, on Monday evening.

Dylan, 21, and his friend, who were on the same jet ski, saw what they thought was a log in the water near the Millennium Bridge.

They alerted Paul and Sean to this, however when Paul came closer, he realised it was the body of a person.

He grabbed onto the body, moved to the side and made sure he stayed there until the emergency services arrived.

Paul, 39, of South Shields, said: "We had been out to Newcastle and were just heading back when this happened.

"Dylan and Steven were in front of us. They were just before the Millennium Bridge when they noticed a dark object in the water. …
