FRIENDS, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears ... or at least your legs for the Gladiator Run.

The group Run Queensland is organising the long-distance running event in the Glass House Mountains on Sunday, June 2.

The run has a Roman Empire theme to celebrate National Italian Day.

The local business owners of Fresca Market and CafA[c] at 528 Steve Irwin Way are arranging food and games after the running.

The Gladiator Run is designed for all abilities and ages, with an 8km run and a 15km event that track through the forest and along Tibrogargan Creek. The 15km run also will venture up Wild Horse Mountain.

Runners have the option of dressing up for the run in Roman Empire clothes.

Registration close at midnight next Friday.

No entries on the day will be accepted.

The run starts at 8.30am, with the afterparty at the cafA[c].

Ward exhibition

HEAD along to the Maleny Library and take a look at Rebecca Ward's stick and stone jewellery pieces.

The artist is encouraging her audience to consider materials and how we use them for everyday tasks, and how natural beauty and perfection can be seen in the "humble object".

Entry is free to the exhibition, which is open during library hours.

Bingham Exhibition

JOANNE Bingham uses different media to highlight characteristics of various animals. She uses a range of colours to bring out the special features of the animal subject. In this exhibition, she mainly uses coloured pencils with a range of techniques. Have a stroll around and check out the works at Maleny Library.
