THIS time around my husband was away from home for six weeks.

He does what he needs to for work and we both understand.

Finding work in Gladstone can be difficult.

Over the years he has done fly-in-fly-out and drive-in-drive-out work.

On his most recent arrival home, it was a quick "hello" as I walked out the door to attend Thursday night's event at the Mt Larcom show.

He knew I would be away the whole weekend with our Rotary Club of Gladstone - Port Curtis as it was a booking event organised months ago.

I was pleased he was able to come out in the evenings to camp with us for the two nights.

I'd set up our tent, beds and all we required.

He was impressed that I did it on my own.

Our club worked from Thursday right through to Sunday afternoon.

I arrived home about 5pm and unloaded and unpacked. …
