Don't Doubt the Conditional; Star Stayer Primed for Classic Test by Thriving Bridgwater; Kim's Novice Is Two Classy in Hampton

THE CONDITIONAL (3.00) rates a confident selection in the McCoy Contractors Classic Handicap Chase at Warwick.

Useful in Ireland, the gelding looked a smart piece of recruiting when he was third to The Hollow Ginge on debut for David Bridgwater in a strong Worcester novice in September.

Pitched into a red-hot Cheltenham handicap a month later, the eight-year-old relished a stiffer test of stamina when hacking up from the talented West TURN TO PAGE TWO above-pari Murphy's gelding (left) can stay on the road to redemption FROM PAGE ONE Approach. That earned the gelding a tilt at the Ladbrokes Trophy at Newbury where he ran another stormer behind runaway winner De Rasher Counter.

The fast-rising chaser holds an entry in the Cheltenham Gold Cup after that performance so he should be able to land this Grade 3 for his in-form handler.

Bridgwater said: "We could have run in the novice but he ran so well in the Ladbrokes Trophy we felt he deserved another shot at a really big prize and he's improved again since.

"I'm not stupid. I know putting a 142-rated horse in the Gold Cup might make me look it, but were he to go and win, I'd be kicking myself for not putting him in."

TWO FOR GOLD (1.50) can take a cracking renewal of the Grade 2 Hampton Novices' Chase for Kim Bailey.

The seven-year-old landed a warm Carlisle novice on debut then followed up in workmanlike fashion over three miles in the Paris Pike at Kelso last month.

I doubt we've seen the best of this bold-jumping gelding who can keep his unbeaten record over fences intact back on a more conventional track.

HARRY SENIOR (2.25) looks another exciting prospect for Colin Tizzard in the Leamington Novices' Hurdle.

The six-year-old built on some excellent efforts over two miles when bolting up from Global Fame up in trip at Chepstow.

There should be plenty more to come from this likeable gelding who can take the promotion to Grade 2 company in his stride.

SILVER SHEEN (3.35) can shade another trappy renewal of the Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle. …
