EVERY single one of the Boro squad will have to dig deep when the relegation battle resumes.

Jonathan Woodgate may have his best XI in mind but with nine massive games looming in a strength-sapping fixture flurry everyone will be thrown into action.

"The whole of the squad is going to be important," said on-loan Manchester City front man Lukas Nmecha. The forward has found himself struggling to nail down a regular starting slot since arriving in January.

The German-born former England international cut his loan short at Wolfsburg hoping for more action at the Riverside and has found it frustrtaing.

He has featured in 10 games but usually from the bench as Woodgate has juggled him with top scorer Ashley Fletcher, "my No 9" Britt Assombalonga and targetman Rudy Gestede.

But Nmecha believes that the fastforward finish to the kick-started campaign means he will get a chance.

"There'll be people who had been wanting to play more games - myself included - who will get an opportunity," he said. "There are so many games in such a short period that everyone's going to have to play their part. The manager has been stressing that since we've been back."

Nmecha wants to use the final nine games to finally show what he can do after a faltering start.

He struggled to force his way into a regular starting slot as Jonathan Woodgate tweaked with his side and shape to accommodate his January reinforcements.

Nmecha showed flashes of promise alongside Ashley Fletcher on his debut in the 1-1 FA Cup home draw against Spurs but failed to push on as Boro's results stuttered and the team slipped back into the hot spots. …
