Rams Continue to Dominate on the Basketball Court

Over the last two seasons, the Englewood High School basketball team has amassed some impressive statistics.

After advancing to the final four last year, the Rams made it to the second round of the state playoffs this season before being ousted. During that span, they've compiled a 40-16 record, won two district titles and spent a good portion of that time ranked in the state poll.

While players such as point guard Carlos Ousley and Kevin Johnson received a great deal of the accolades from Englewood's success, Wesley Edwards was a large reason why the Rams were able to maintain their string of consistency.

"He's such a great complement to Carlos and Kevin," said Englewood coach Lemont Jones. "When the smoke cleared, he was our glue."

The 6-foot-7 senior, who averaged 15 points per game during his junior campaign, returned even better for his senior season.

He posted team highs in scoring (16 points per game) and led the team in rebounding with 9. …
