WASHINGTON -- Green Party candidate Ralph Nader has submitted enough signatures to appear on 34 state ballots and hopes to be on in as many as 45 states this fall, campaign manager Theresa Amato said yesterday. In addition, the campaign has filed lawsuits challenging tough ballot access laws in North Carolina, Illinois, South Dakota and Oklahoma.

The campaign also began airing a slick new television ad Sunday, ripping Al Gore and George W. Bush and demanding that Nader be included in the fall debates.

The 30-second "Priceless Truth" spot -- which will air for at least a week in several major media markets at a cost of at least $500,000 -- is modeled on a popular MasterCard ad campaign and shows footage of Gore and Bush glad-handing and back-slapping.

"Grilled tenderloin for fund-raiser: $1,000 a plate," a narrator intones. "Campaign ads filled with half-truths: Over $10 billion. Finding out the truth: Priceless. There are some things money can't buy. Without Ralph Nader in the presidential debates, the truth will come in last. …
