PLAY OF THE GAME

Beasley, Marts double-team Browns

The Browns had momentum and they actually had a decent chance to win the game. Then, Jaguars cornerback Aaron Beasley made the play of the game.

The Browns, on their first drive of the second half, trailed 10-7 but drove from their 17-yard line to the Jaguars 35, reaching the 35 on an 11-yard pass from quarterback Tim Couch to wide receiver JaJuan Dawson. On the ensuing play, rookie tight end Aaron Shea ran an out-and-up route, catching the ball and turning it into a 24-yard gain. At the end of the play, Beasley tackled him and stripped the ball.

Jaguars linebacker Lonnie Marts recovered, and the Jaguars scored on their ensuing drive.

"It was huge," Jaguars coach Tom Coughlin said. "You talk about changing plays. It became one of those key plays in a game."

CATCH OF THE GAME

Brady's big grab

On third-and-8 from the Jaguars 17 late in the first quarter, Jaguars quarterback Mark Brunell threw a high pass toward tight end Kyle Brady. Brady leaped high and made a twisting catch for a 27-yard gain and a first down.

RUN OF THE GAME

Couch trip

The Browns didn't do much in the second half yesterday, and quarterback Tim Couch didn't do much, period. In the third quarter, though, he scrambled around the left side and found open ground. He evaded a tackler and ran up the sideline for a 31-yard gain.

HIT OF THE GAME

Hardy settles in

It came on the game's third play. Browns receiver Darren Chiaverini ran a pattern toward the middle, then veered to the sideline. Couch threw to him on the outside, and Jaguars linebacker Hardy Nickerson leveled him, separating him from the ball.

THIRD-QUARTER RECOVERY

The beginning of the third quarter. Following the fumble by Shea that Marts recovered, the Jaguars took control. They drove 86 yards for a touchdown on the ensuing drive and the Jaguars' defense and offense dominated thereafter. …
