Mike Logan has waited for his chance. Now he has it.

The team's fourth-year safety, a 1997 second-round pick, will make his first NFL start Sunday at free safety. Logan will start in place of Rayna Stewart, who will be out 3-5 weeks with a knee injury.

"I've been patient," Logan said. "I knew my opportunity would come."

Cowher, asked yesterday about the situation, said, "I really shouldn't comment," and when he did, he measured his words.

"It's just unfortunate that there are a lot of repercussions when things like that happen," he said.

In a 23-20 loss to the Browns on Sept. …
