An undercover drug bust on Jacksonville's Southside Sept. 29 and 30 resulted in the arrest of six men on charges of cocaine sale or possession, after police posing as drug dealers said the men sold or were preparing to sell the drug to them at sites on Philips Highway and Beach Boulevard.

Police said the first arrest was at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 29, when a 25-year-old Northside man was charged with trafficking in cocaine after he was found with 38 grams of cocaine. Police said the man had pre-arranged to sell the drugs to an undercover narcotics detective for $4,000 during a telephone conversation. After the Florida Highway Patrol stopped him at the pre-arranged meeting point in the 3800 block of Beach Boulevard, police said, they found the drugs.

Then at 5:45 p.m. Sept. 30, police said they arrested a 25-year-old Arlington man and a 23-year-old Northside man on charges of sale of cocaine near a convenience store at 5125 Beach Blvd., after the police report said the men pre-arranged the buy over a pay telephone at the store, then handed over a plastic bag with four crack cocaine rocks inside across the street.

At 8 p.m. Sept. 30, police said, they arrested a 22-year-old Westside man on charges of selling cocaine within 1,000 feet of a church and possession of marijuana, after they said he sold one piece of crack cocaine to undercover police for $20 in the 2900 block of Philips Highway. Finally, police arrested two men on charges of sale of crack cocaine at 9:20 p.m. the same night after the two sold undercover officers two pieces of crack cocaine for $20 in a motel at 3155 Philips Highway.

The following are crimes and other incidents reported recently on the Southside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office:

-- Two men, one armed with a gun, stole an undetermined amount of money Tuesday from Video Heat, 3501 Emerson St. Police said two men walked into the store at 9:20 a.m. and began looking at videos. Then one of them walked up to the counter with a chrome handgun, his face covered in a red bandana, and ordered two employees into the restroom. Then police said the two men stole the cash box and fled.

ARMED ROBBERY:

Food Lion, 9550 Baymeadows Road -- A 19-year-old Jacksonville Beach man was arrested at 11 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of armed robbery after police said he robbed the supermarket at gunpoint Sept. 20. Police said the man was arrested at his home.

Apartment at 8343 Hogan Road -- A pizza delivery man was robbed at gunpoint while handing over a pizza to a man inside an apartment at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday. Police said the man pulled out a gun and said, "Don't worry about the change because it's free," then stole the pizza as well as money in the victim's pockets.
