LIGHT PARADE RESTRICTIONS

Anchoring in the St. Johns River downtown and docking on part of the Northbank Riverwalk will be restricted next weekend because of the 16th annual City of Jacksonville Light Parade.

"No boats will be allowed to dock [on the Northbank Riverwalk] between The Jacksonville Landing and the kiosk at the foot of Hogan Street," city waterfront director Paul DiMauro said. "Those spaces will be reserved for participants in the parade."

Docking will be permitted elsewhere on the Northbank and all along the Southbank Riverwalk as well as at Metropolitan Park, but anchoring out will be prohibited on the south side of the river between the Acosta Bridge and the JEA's Southside Generating Station between 4 and 11 p.m. Saturday. The river also will be closed to other marine traffic during the parade, scheduled to begin at 7.

The Main Street bridge will be up during the parade, whose route will carry the boats from Metro Park to the Landing and back along the Southbank. …
