6 Youths Arrested in Burglaries

PONTE VEDRA BEACH -- Six youths were arrested last week on charges of burglarizing three homes on Ponte Vedra Boulevard.

Robert David Singletary, 19, of Jacksonville; Christopher Terrence Johnson, 18, of Atlantic Beach; Marc Gregory Collett, 19, of West Virginia, two 16-year-olds and a 17-year-old, all of Ponte Vedra Beach, were arrested, said St. Johns County Sheriff's Office spokesman Kevin Kelshaw.

Singletary, Collett and one of the 16-year-olds each were charged with two counts of armed burglary to a dwelling and grand theft. The 17-year-old was charged with one count of armed burglary and grand theft, while Johnson faces charges of grand theft and dealing in stolen property. The other 16-year-old was charged with one count of burglary.

Police responded to a residence alarm Feb. 6 in the 900 block of Ponte Vedra Boulevard.

Deputies found two teens in a vehicle nearby with $7,600 worth of jewelry, bottles of liquor and other items inside two backpacks, police reports said. …
