Groups Use Web Site to Keep in Touch with the First Coast

Article excerpt

In case you have not been following this column over the past month, First Coast Community is the new community Web site on As community publishing coordinator with and the Florida Times-Union, I use this space in the newspaper to inform readers about the many features offered at First Coast Community. More importantly, this is also where I share news, information, events and happenings about the numerous community-minded organizations in Northeast Florida. At First Coast Community, we refer to these groups as "Partner Groups." Since officially launching our community site in January, over 250 partner groups have joined our First Coast Community efforts.

Interested in having your group become a First Coast Community partner group? You may want to visit our site at and check out our links to Partner Group Benefits and Frequently Asked Questions. To see a complete listing of Partner Groups, click the View All Partner Groups link. If you click the Join First Coast Community link, a simple form will appear. Once you submit the form online, you will receive an e-mail message welcoming your group to First Coast Community, with instructions on how to view and maintain your site. Groups with existing sites are encouraged to link to them. You can create and maintain your partner group site from any Web connection and there are no costs involved for partner groups.

To find out more about these organizations, go to First Coast Community and click on the link to Featured Partner Groups of the Week.
