FSU Kicker Treated as Overdose Victim

TALLAHASSEE -- Florida State walk-on kicker Matt Munyon, who was hospitalized last Thursday after suffering "seizure-like" symptoms, was treated by the emergency room staff at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital as a "GHB overdose" victim, according to a Tallahassee police report.

A passing motorist spotted Munyon passed out in his car at the stop sign at Ravoli and Pensacola Street Thursday afternoon and summoned emergency services. The police report said Munyon was "thrashing violently."

Munyon denied ingesting any drugs, according to the report, although traces of marijuana were found in his urine sample. A "detoxifier," which is used to cleanse the body or mask drug use, was found in his vehicle.

The case was turned over to Florida State police and the athletic department was notified. Munyon has not returned to practice since the incident and has undergone a battery of tests, including supervised drug tests. …
