Robbie's 'Bed of Memories' Goes under the Hammer

A BED owned by Robbie Williams went under the hammer today to raise cash for charity.

The king-size bed - which Williams, 27, joked had "seen a lot of memories" - was one of 44 items for sale at Sotheby's in London to raise funds for the Give It Sum charity set up by the singer.

Originally bought from Heal's, the bed was expected to fetch between [pound]2,000 and [pound]3,000. Also up for grabs was bric-a-brac from a clearout of Williams's west London house. Included were his tiger pants from the Rock DJ video and the motorised lavatory used on his UK tour.

The only set of handwritten lyrics for Angels were expected to fetch more than [pound]6,000 while lyrics for Millennium and No Regrets were thought likely to fetch around [pound]5,000 each.

The former Take That singer, when interviewed by chatshow host Michael Parkinson on his BBC show on Saturday, revealed he had decided to donate his bed and a variety of personal possessions because he wanted to do more for charitable causes. …
