Confident Kinsella Sets Sights on Europe

CHARLTON captain Mark Kinsella today declared a European place is well within his team's grasp.

They are in ninth place in the Premiership and play struggling Bradford at Valley Parade tomorrow. Their other remaining fixtures are against Aston Villa, Chelsea, Ipswich, Sunderland and Liverpool, who all have European ambitions.

It is a tough run-in but Kinsella will not settle for a mid-table position. Exactly where his team have to finish to secure a UEFA Cup spot is not yet clear and depends on how other English sides fare in this season's Champions League.

Kinsella said: "I think there could be European places on offer down to the team that finish seventh and there are still a lot of points to play for.

We have got to play the teams above us and if we could beat them then anything could happen. If we did that it would finish off a really tremendous season.

"Last season we won the First Division championship fairly early and we did not finish very well. …
