Armani at home:

It was bound to happen. The king of fluid frocks and well-fitting jeans has finally launched his own home collection, Casa, with characteristically modest claims: "The colours are new to the decorating world, and include greyish greens, greys merging into beige and anthracite with lapis highlights." The Armani Casa Collection, comprising tables, chairs, containers, boxes, screens, beds, sheets, blankets and bedspreads, will be available exclusively from the Harrods homeware department from the middle of April.

Painting outdoors:

Good news for those of us who like to paint our outdoor furniture and woodwork in anything other than bog-standard colours. Farrow and Ball has produced its own range of exterior paints in 18 "historic" colours, such as Chartwell Green and Mr Wade's Blue, in both oil-based exterior eggshell for wood and metal ([pound]10.99 for 750ml) and water-based masonry paint for brick and stone ([pound]18.99 for 2.5 litres). F&B also brings out, this spring, Papers 6, a new range of wallpapers, using traditional block-printing techniques and its own paint ranges. Prices vary from [pound]27.95 to [pound]37.95 per roll.

For nearest stockists and enquiries call Farrow and Ball on 01202 876141.

Going global:

William Yeoward has designed a stunning new collection of fabrics under the Designers Guild aegis. He's called it Notebook, because the designs are apparently inspired by his travels from the American Midwest to Thailand, via Provence and Japan. There are chenille jacquards, linen ottomans, cotton voiles, flocked prints and three-dimensional velvets in earthy rich colours like gooseberry, kumquat, currant and damson. They sound and look yum. See the collection, together with Yeoward's signature glass and furniture at his newly expanded showroom at the Old Imperial Laundry, Battersea or from Designers Guild showrooms.

Arabian nights:

Fashion designers like to bring out home collections, but here's a company doing it the other way around. Layla Moussa, a Jeddah-based embroiderer has just launched her first textile collection, which includes haute couture and pr?t-aporter ranges. The sumptuousness and detail on some of the fabrics will leave you gasping (as will the prices). Intricately embroidered with metallic threads, they include silk velvets, linens, jute, dupion, taffeta, organza and flannel. Available from Layla Moussa, by appointment on 020 7262 2878.

Ocean drive:

Natural materials abound in the latest Ocean catalogue. Get the cowhide, leather and seagrass look in a variety of shapes and styles from this bumper issue, which proudly boasts no fewer than 120 new products. Sandblasted glass, aluminium and brightly coloured plastics also feature, as do lots of different woods, including an extremely "now" darkwood (chairs, coffee tables and sideboards) and a rather nifty beech table and hanging stool - great for space-saving in the kitchen or a kid's bedroom. …
