MIUCCIA PRADA is the one designer in Milan who knows just what women want.

Planning your winter wardrobe already? Then take a few tips from last night's latest offering from Ms Prada - after all she has built a company worth over [pound]1 billion in sales on spotting just what shoe and what bag will be the must-have fashion accessory of the season.

But as she sent out a collection that was a mishmash of retro references - a little bit Sixties King's Road bohemia, a little bit Mary Poppins and a little bit gym-slip school girl - it was hard to tell what clothes would end up neatly bagged-up on the arms of label-hungry celebs next season.

A fur-trimmed, gently gathered skirt (as worn by model Maggie Riser), a bright orange zip-neck, cap-sleeve, Courr?ges-inspired dress (modelled by Jacquetta Wheeler) or an Edwardian-inspired cape (sported by flame-haired Karen Elsen)?

Your guess is as good as mine.

But as for the bag? …
