AMERICAN magician David Blaine added some midsummer magic to the Serpentine Gallery party last night as he mingled with the select crowd and showed them his mind-boggling card tricks.

Co-hosted by French couturier Emanuel Ungaro, the annual fundraiser for the Hyde Park art space had drawn an even more fashionable crowd than usual - even at [pound]125 an invite.

Rubbing shoulders with the likes of Elle Macpherson, Yasmin Le Bon - on the arm of Duran Duran singer husband Simon - and Ungaro girl Liberty Ross, were arty types such as Sam Taylor Wood, Jibby Beene and Rachel Whiteread.

Adding to the eclectic mix were Mick Jagger and Ronnie Wood drinking pink champagne among the pink scatter cushions and customised pink Lamberta - all very Ungaro.

The centrepiece of the leafy setting was a specially constructed pavilion complete with rotating disco mirror balls and cocktail bar by designer Daniel Libeskind.

Art in its own right in shimmering aluminium plating, the pavilion was also on offer to the highest bidder with excess cash - and extensive grounds to match. …
