Ealing Blast Re-Enacted in Bid to Track Down Witnesses

POLICE will today carry out a reconstruction of events that led to the Ealing bomb, one week after the event.

The movements of the Saab 9000 car which was packed with explosives and parked near Ealing Broadway Tube station will also be examined.

The turbo, five-door saloon, will be driven along the Broadway at 8.30pm and parked in the exact position the bomber left it.

Deputy Assistant Met Commissioner Alan Fry will be at the scene and officers will hand out leaflets and talk to people visiting pubs to see if they remember anything.

Detectives are desperate for two men, pictured on CCTV close to the bomber, to contact them. They say their evidence could be crucial.

The Met says it has received a "disappointing" response to appeals for witnesses.

A police spokeswoman said: "We are hoping this reconstruction will help jog memories and bring new witnesses.

We have been unable to trace the two men who were shown walking past the suspected bomber. …
