-- Jackson (2-0) at Raines (2-0) -- How's this for a little prep perspective? Last season at the Tigers' Northside off-campus home field, Jackson beat Raines for the first time since any of the players were born. Another Jackson win here would launch the program's turnaround to another level. Raines, with some of the greatest athletes in school history on hand to be introduced as Raines Hall of Fame inductees, won't want to look like Jackson's stepping stone in front of such accomplished alumni. This could be the hardest-hitting game in the area all season that White isn't involved in. T-U pick: Jackson

-- Fletcher (2-0) at Parker (0-2) -- Fletcher, which will be without injured starting linebacker and offensive tackle Jason Swank, is in for a close one here. The Braves have had a lot of offensive problems after two weeks, but the Parker defense will show up tonight. T-U pick: Fletcher

-- Orange Park (0-2) at Forrest (0-2) -- These winless teams have each been hammered once and lost a close one once. Rebels coach Dennis Clemons -- although it hasn't been proven in the win column yet -- knows what he's doing and will have the program turned around before he's done. In an upset . . . -- Oviedo (1-1) at Sandalwood (0-2) -- The Saints get a restart of sorts tonight because it is the district opener. District 1-6A will be a close race, and the teams who start 0-1 in 1-6A will be battling uphill the rest of the season. T-U pick: Sandalwood


-- Altamonte Springs Lake Brantley (0-0) at White (1-0) -- Another of the three District 1-6A games being played in Jacksonville this week, this game brings together the district's frontrunners from both its four-team group from Orlando, and its three-team group from Jacksonville. …
