-- Names: Caycee Hess and Therese Hughes

-- High school: Middleburg

-- What they're doing: The reason these two seniors will play on the collegiate level is largely due to each other. The hitter-setter duo has played nine consecutive volleyball seasons together. They led the Broncos (22-11) to their third appearance in the elite eight during the past four years. Hess finished the season with a team-high 285 kills and added 146 digs and 44 aces. Hughes led Middleburg with 482 assists and pitched in with 74 kills, 44 aces and 73 digs.

-- Where they're going: Hess is considering the University of Montevallo in Alabama and Appalachian State in North Carolina. Valdosta State has shown interest in both Hughes and Hess.

-- Amy Quinn, St. Johns Country Day: Led St. Johns Country Day to its first Class A state final-four appearance, recording 14 kills during a 15-6, 15-8 win against Altha. In District 4-A final Quinn had 12 kills in a 15-7, 15-3 victory against St. Joseph Academy.

-- Jamie Richie, Bartram Trail: Richie helped the Bears to the District 5-3A championship title thanks to one of the best service displays in area district play. Richie, the younger sister of former Bishop Kenny baseball standout Tony Richie, who is playing for FSU, recorded 17 service points and five aces against Pedro Menendez.

-- Megan Tunstill and Camie Putnam, Bolles: Duo combined for 23 kills against an outmatched Stanton team as the Lady Bulldogs moved on in postseason play. Tunstill, a sophomore, also tied a match-high with 10 assists. Against Keystone Heights in the Region 1-3A final, Tunstill had seven assists and Putnam recorded seven kills to lead the Lady Bulldogs to the Class 3A state final four in Orlando.
