A third and final workshop to discuss how to implement ways to make Baymeadows Road easier, safer and more picturesque will be at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Florida Community College at Jacksonville Deerwood Center at Old Baymeadows Road and Southside Boulevard.

The Florida Department of Transportation has held two Baymeadows Road Mobility Improvement Project workshops to let residents and business owners discuss problems on the roadway between Florida 9A and San Jose Boulevard, then come up with solutions other than widening the road.

This time, the state and other regional transportation agencies want residents to give them ideas on how to find city, state or private funding to implement the ideas, and whether some kind of residents group can be formed to monitor the changes they offered at a Sept. 27 meeting with city or state officials

"What we hope to do is come up with recommendations as to what this group might look like," said Patricia Greason, state transportation planner. …
