GAINESVILLE -- Udonis Haslem returned from foul trouble in the second half to score 13 points and secure Florida's 81-65 victory against Tulane yesterday.

The senior center and the No. 6 Gators (4-1) gave the Green Wave (4-1) its first loss in front of 8,244 at the O'Connell Center.

Haslem scored on all six second-half field goals. Two personal fouls in the opening two minutes put him on the bench for the rest of the first half.

"I kept my head in the game, and I knew when I came out in the second half -- whether it be scoring or rebounding or defensively -- I was going to give my team a spark," Haslem said.

In less than three minutes, Haslem scored 11 points to give the Gators a 53-36 lead.

"One of the more difficult things to do in the game of basketball is to sit for 18 straight minutes and 15 minutes at halftime and keep yourself mentally focused," Florida coach Billy Donovan said. "There's probably not a better player in the country who could handle it better than [Haslem] because God knows his first three years he was over there quite a bit in foul trouble. …
