CHARLTON striker Matt Svensson is set to make his comeback at Everton tomorrow as manager Alan Curbishley looks to freshen up his side.

The Swedish international has been plagued by injuries since preseason and has not started a game this campaign. He damaged knee-ligaments in a friendly in the summer and then suffered a hamstring injury in a reserve team game two weeks ago.

His recovery programme was also disrupted when he was sent-off during a match for Charlton's second-string side and had to serve a suspension.

But the combative 27-year-old would offer Curbishley something different in attack as his side have not scored in the last three matches.

Jason Euell and Kevin Lisbie came close against Fulham in the 0-0 draw at Craven Cottage on Boxing Day, but could not convert a series of chances.

Other options include out-of-form Finn Jonatan Johansson and Shaun Bartlett, but Curbishley is preparing to be without the South Africa captain after he was selected to play for his country in the African Nations Cup which starts next month in Mali. …
